Twitter Homepage Refresh

Since many of you probably use a third-party application like TweetDeck or Seesmic, you may not log into the Twitter homepage that often anymore.  Well, it’s worth taking a look as Twitter has finally pushed out a refreshed homepage.

Notice that the bottom bar has 3 lines of trending topics?  That’s because the homepage now display topics that are trending right now, today and this week.

Once you log-in nothing has changed, at least as of yet.  But, the new homepage is something shiny and new on the eyes.  It will be interesting to see if this change continues on through to the profile page or Twitter Search.

    I think it is pretty!
    What I hope for the future? Pretty is fine – I want some better search function!
    I miss Summize! Do you remember when you were able to search & find content that was in the stream, the bio, the url AND the name! ahhh, those were the days!

    If you visit http://tweepsearch.com, you can search metadata from bios, urls, locations, and names. ;)

    I like the new landing page. Why they didn't change the “What are you doing?” question is a boggle.

    Justin,

    I think the new homepage format was a good move for Twitter. It highlights Twitter's search capability, which has the power to convert even the most skeptical of skeptics if they take the time to check that out. I also never liked the “join” connotation on the original page so I'm glad that has been removed.
