And employees at my company were floored when the head of the company sent them a message thanking them for coming in over the weekend to clean up a burst pipe and make office space ready for others by Monday morning. Hand-written messages are so rare these days that their impact is huge. Leaders could really win some employee loyalty by using hand-written notes to appreciate people for their hard work.
