Happy Birthday Laura!
Today I dedicate my blog to my best friend and wonderful fiancé Laura. Today is her birthday so I wanted to write this post about her. I talk about her a lot on Twitter and people have come to know her by name, and a few, by actually getting to meet her. But today, I wanted to let you in a little more on my personal life and talk to you about how much she means to me. At the end I am going to ask for your help with something.
Why this is funny…
You have to understand some of the underlying humor with me doing this. Laura wants nothing to do with blogging or social media. She has successfully deleted her Facebook account twice. It’s not that she doesn’t understand it. It’s just not for her, right now. Of course, she doesn’t mind that I’m out making my career in this field. But that is where you really get to understand how awesome she really is.
Why I am doing this…
Laura is the best friend and fiancé any guy could ask for. She supports me more than I could ever ask for or expect. Whether it’s traveling last minute 10,000 miles away for 10 days or relocating to another state for a new opportunity. No problem. If I need to stay up all night and do work? That’s ok. Bring my laptop on vacation? She understands. She actually encourages me to do work because she knows I love what I do and she knows that my only end goal is to make a better life for us and our future family.
The fact that she supports my crazy work habits aren’t the only reason why she is awesome. There are a million other reasons why.
Laura is super smart (graduated with above a 3.9 GPA), beautiful, caring and understanding. I am very lucky that she is my future wife. I love her more than words can explain. She is the best part of my day.
For those that don’t know, I lost both of my parents due to medical issues, 5 months apart from one another, during my senior year of high school. Holidays and certain anniversaries suck because of this. Sometimes I get sad because I miss them. Laura has been the rock in my life to support me through the hard times that come along with that kind of loss. Her family has also opened their arms wide and treat me like their son. It’s more than I could ever ask for. For it I will be forever grateful.
This post is one way for me to thank her for all that she does for me and us. It’s my way to wish her a very Happy Birthday!
So, without further ado…
Thank you Laura for being an amazing part of my life. I love you and there isn’t anyone else that I could imagine marrying. I look forward to continuing all of the fun that we have together. During those times that there’s a little rain, I’m sorry. Here’s to you beautiful! I hope that you have a wonderful day and that this makes you smile!
Happy Birthday Laura! I love you!
Where all of you come in…
So, at the beginning of this post I said that I needed everyone’s help with something…
Every year Laura hates her birthday because it falls on the day AFTER one of the biggest party days of the year. That sucks. She turned 21 the day AFTER New Years. Our friends are always still hung over and/or tired the day after. No one ever wants to do anything and it usually ends up making her sad. Add to that, this year she has a wicked head cold and has to work open to close at her restaurant (a 10-14hr day).
Where do you come in? My goal today is to get as many people as possible to wish her a Happy Birthday in the comments below. Do you think we think we can get 25 people to wish her Happy Birthday? 50? 100 or more? I don’t know but I want to experiment. It is rare that I ask for you to share out my posts so please help me out with this one.
Thanks for your help! Happy New Year to all of you!
